2008 ASCAP/DISNEY MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP IN NEW YORK   The 2008 ASCAP/Stephen Schwartz Musical Theatre Workshop will be held this spring at the ASCAP Building (1 Lincoln Plaza, 5th floor, NYC) on Tuesday & Wednesday, March 18th & 19th; Wednesday & Thursday, March 26th & 27th and Monday & Tuesday, March 31st & April 1st. SINGERS PEFORMANCE INTENSIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO
   
A 30-hour intensive covering performance technique and presentation for singers and a how-to in marketing/publicity for professional, semi-professional and emerging performers will take place at the THICK HOUSE THEATRE on two weekends in August, the 3rd through 5th and 11th & 12th. The intensive will give each singer the opportunity to work on several songs in a master class setting, addressing interpretation of lyrics, stage presence, mic technique, verbal introduction to the song, working with instrumentalists, and "selling" the song in performance.    posted 07-22-07

MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets) is proud to announce its next seminar on the topic of "Theatre as Cabaret/Cabaret as Theatre," to be held at THE TRIAD on Tuesday May 22nd from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. The seminar will explore the origins of shows like Nunsense, Newsical, Jacques Brel..., and others that had their start in a cabaret room and have gone on to off-Broadway, Broadway, regional and even international success. THREE DAY CABARET WORKSHOP COMES TO CHICAGO    St. Louis based RNI Productions announces a three day professional development workshop focusing on the Art of Cabaret Performance led by multiple award-winning New York based performers and teachers Lina Koutrakos And Rick Jensen. Tim Schall is producer for this event which takes place at DAVENPORT'S during the weekend of Friday through Sunday, June 22nd through 24th.    THE PERRY-MANSFIELD PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL & CAMP (40755 RCR 36 Steamboat Springs, CO - 970-879-7125 - http://www.perry-mansfield.org/ad_cab.html ) is pleased to announce the return of their master faculty to this summer's The Art of Cabaret: Master Classes in Song Performance (August 20th-27th). Masters include Andrea Marcovicci, Karen Mason, Shelly Markham, Christopher Denny, Barry Kleinbort, and David Gaines. The tuition is $2400, and participants must audition for acceptance. After a year producing and hosting The Song of the Month Club, 2 years producing and hosting The New Stars of the Purple Onion showcase, 6 years producing and hosting Thick Tuesdays Singers Performance Workshop, the Kitchenettes (Lua Hadar, Linda Kosut and Barry Lloyd) are germinating a new idea involving THICK HOUSE THEATRE and the fames Kitchenettes Cabaret Master Classes. THE TUSCANY PROJECT IN ITALY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS NOW
   THE TUSCANY PROJECT: Voice & Song 15th Annual International Intensive Voice Workshop will take place in Italy From June 25th through July 6th this summer. The Tuscany Project is an extraordinary, intensive workshop held each summer in Italy at the villa Locanda del Gallo, near Perugia. The project blends group and individual work focusing on each person's growing edge in the areas of vocal exploration, movement, song interpretation and performance, performing presence, and work on group and individual songs (ie. cabaret, musical theater, jazz, gospel).   posted 01-29-07
