Bob O'Hare made his cabaret debut in May of 2009 with "Home: A Musical Journey." Shortly after, Mr. O'Hare took a very serious fall after his first show, and is still in recovery today. His life was dominated by a long stay in a rehabilitation center and much physical therapy, but Robert O'Hare has willpower! As soon as he could, he began working with Eric Michael Gillett, his director, and the Tom Nelson Trio. The healing process continues, and so does the music! Eric and Bob have selected a glorious range of songs to tell Bob's fascinating, inspiring, sometimes humorous story of Recovery, by composers such as Leslie Bricusse, David Friedman, Jerry Herman, Henry Mancini, Anthony Newley, Paul Simon, Stephen Sondheim, and others. NYC: SUNDAY JAZZ BRUNCH WITH GABRIELLE STRAVELLI

Bistro Award winning vocalist, Gabrielle Stravelli, returns with her Sunday Jazz Brunch on August 11th at LE PESCADEUX (90 Thompson Street, NYC - 212-966-0021), a French restaurant in the heart of Soho. They will play three sets from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. She will be joined by Saul Rubin on guitar and Pat O'Leary on bass in this charming boite that offers a great, well-priced menu and cozy atmosphere. Award-winning vocalist Gabrielle Stravelli has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal following through her unique take on material from the new American songbook as well as classic standards by artists as varied as Pink Floyd and Duke Ellington, Dolly Parton and Johnny Mercer. NYC: SUNDAY BRUNCH: CLAUDIO RODITI QUARTET - TRIBUTE TO DIZZY GILLESPIE

Trumpeter Claudio Roditi will perform a Tribute to Dizzy Gillespie at THE BLUE NOTE (131 West 3rd Street, NYC - 212-475-8592) for the December Brunch shows - showtime is 11:30 am. He is joined by Roni Ben-Hur, guitar; John Lee, bass; and Robin Baytas, drums. Integrating post-bop elements and Brazilian rhythmic concepts into his palette with ease, Grammy-nominee Claudio Roditi plays with power and lyricism. This versatility keeps the trumpeter in demand as a performer, recording artist and teacher. Born in 1946 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Roditi began his musical studies when he was just six years old. By the time he was twelve, he had already become a serious jazz listener. In 1966, he was named a finalist at the International Jazz Competition in Vienna, Austria. While in Vienna, Roditi met Art Farmer, one of his idols, and the friendship inspired the younger trumpeter to follow a career in jazz. He has since performed and recorded with many jazz greats, including Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Mann, Joe Henderson, Horace Silver, McCoy Tyner, Tito Puente, and Paquito D'Rivera. With over twenty critically acclaimed albums to his credit, Claudio Roditi continually develops his playing and compositions through new recording projects. His latest release features several Roditi originals (Bossa de Mank, Piccolo Samba, and the driving, straight-ahead tune, Levitation) framed by seven compositions written by Brazilian masters such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Johnny Alf, guitarist/composer Toninho Horta, and pianist Eliane Elias. $29.50 cover includes brunch, music and a drink.

NYC: ARTURO O'FARRILL AFRO LATIN JAZZ ORCHESTRA SUNDAYS

Grammy Award winning pianist, composer and educator Arturo O'Farrill brings his Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra to BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) on Sundays at 9:00 & 11:00pm. Called the leader of the "first family of Afro-Cuban Jazz", O'Farrill was born in Mexico and grew up in New York City. Son of the late, great composer Chico O'Farrill, Arturo was Educated at Manhattan School of Music, Brooklyn College Conservatory and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. He played piano in Carla Bley's Big Band from 1979 through 1983 and earned a reputation as a soloist in groups led by Dizzy Gillespie, Steve Turre, Freddy Cole, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis and Harry Belafonte. The Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra is the resident large format ensemble of the nonprofit Afro Latin Jazz Alliance (ALJA) founded by Arturo O'Farrill in 2007 and dedicated to preserving the music and heritage of big band Latin jazz, supporting its performance for new audiences, and educating young people in the understanding and performance of this important cultural treasure. NYC: KLEA BLACKHURST, JIM CARUSO & BILLY STRITCH IN "A SWINGING BIRDLAND CHRISTMAS"

The show features Chris Botti, trumpet; Billy Kilson, drums; Leonardo Amuedo, guitar; Geoffrey Keezer, piano; Andy Ezrin, keys; Richie Goods, bass; Sy Smith, vocals; and Serena Mckinney, violin. In a career that spans three decades and a discography that includes more than a dozen eclectic and innovative recordings, six-time GRAMMY nominee Mike Stern has established himself as one of the premier jazz and jazz-fusion guitarists and composers of his generation. NYC: DUDUKA DA FONSECA & HELIO ALVES AT DIZZY'S

This holiday season, the musical traditions of Rio will transform cold winter nights into sultry samba celebrations, courtesy of percussionist Duduka Da Fonseca and Sao Paulo native and first call pianist Helio Alves when they appear at DIZZY'S CLUB AT JAZZ AT LINCOLN CENTER (33 West 60th Street, NYC - 212-258-9595) on Thursday through Monday, December 19th through 23rd with shows at 7:30 & 9:30 pm. They are joined by special guest vocalist Maucha Adnet; Anat Cohen, clarinet; Hans Glawischnig, bass; and Mike Moreno, guitar. In addition to being a member of Trio da Paz, Da Fonseca has also had a storied career as a sideman, playing with artists from Joe Henderson to Antonio Carlos Jobim. Da Fonseca and Alves will present a special program of Christmas-themed samba jazz, guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit.

Chuck Redd will perform at BLUES ALLEY (1073 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC - 202-337-4141 - ) on Sunday, December 22nd with shows at 8:00 & 10:00 pm. Redd made his international debut when he joined the Charlie Byrd Trio in 1980 at the age of 21. That year, he also began performing extensively with the Great Guitars. With Byrd, Redd traveled around the world and throughout the United States. Robert Redd born and raised in the Washington, DC, area, where he continues to base his musical career. Ori Naftaly, a 25 year old Israeli guitarist, composer and producer, will perform with his band at BETHESDA BLUES & JAZZ SUPPER CLUB (7719 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD - 240-330-4500 - ) on Sunday, December 22md at 7:30 pm. For years Naftaly studied guitar from a wide range of music genres (Spanish, Classical, Jazz and Funk). Naftaly studied and graduated from Hadassim High Music Class at the age of 17, then was accepted to Rimon School of Jazz & Contemporary Music, for Arrangement and Composition studies. After two years, he started playing and recording with Israeli artists all over Israel. In 2011 Ori Naftaly started gathering his favorite blues musicians to open his own band - The Ori Naftaly Band. Since then, the band won awards around the world. On October 2012 he won the local blues competition, and the Ori Naftaly Band was chosen as the Best Israeli Blues Band of 2013. In Memphis TN at the 29th IBC The Ori Naftaly Band made it to the Semi Finals. Their second album "Happy For Good" was released in May 2013 and featured 8 new songs by the band. Ori Naftaly produced the album and composed most of the songs. There is a $20 cover.

NYC: KAREN WYMAN RETURNS FOR 2 NIGHTS ONLY

After a thrilling show in October, Karen Wyman returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday & Saturday, December 20th & 21st at 7:00 pm. She is joined on stage by John Oddo on piano, Jay Leonhart on bass, and Eddie Caccavale on drums. A national sensation for a short time in the late '60s and early '70s Karen Wyman is electrifying the music world. Wyman was just 16 when she astonished Dean Martin and his national television audience. In short order she made appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and on shows hosted by Carol Burnett, Jim Nabors, Glen Campbell, Dick Cavett, David Frost, Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas. She performed in nightclubs and recorded two albums and several singles for Decca Records, and had another on the way. Then circumstances changed. Karen began to raise a family, performing infrequently. Her last full show was a one-off in Atlantic City in 1989. Now 24 years later, Wyman is back for more and back to stay. NYC: KAREN WYMAN RETURNS FOR 2 NIGHTS ONLY

After a thrilling show in October, Karen Wyman returns to THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) on Friday & Saturday, December 20th & 21st at 7:00 pm. She is joined on stage by John Oddo on piano, Jay Leonhart on bass, and Eddie Caccavale on drums. A national sensation for a short time in the late '60s and early '70s Karen Wyman is electrifying the music world. Wyman was just 16 when she astonished Dean Martin and his national television audience. In short order she made appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and on shows hosted by Carol Burnett, Jim Nabors, Glen Campbell, Dick Cavett, David Frost, Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas. She performed in nightclubs and recorded two albums and several singles for Decca Records, and had another on the way. Then circumstances changed. Karen began to raise a family, performing infrequently. Her last full show was a one-off in Atlantic City in 1989. Now 24 years later, Wyman is back for more and back to stay.
