NYC: EBERSOLE & FEINSTEIN CLOSE THE YEAR AT FEINSTEIN'S

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095) will close its Fall 2012 season with the return of the club's founder Michael Feinstein and two-time Tony Award winning Broadway and TV star Christine Ebersole from Sunday, December 23rd through Monday, December 31st, New Year's Eve at 8:00 pm, with additional 10:30 pm shows on Friday & Saturday, December 28th & 29th. Their duet show will feature classic standards and Broadway hits, in addition to rarities from the Great American Songbook. Feinstein will perform selections from The Gershwins and Me, his new CD and book from Simon & Schuster, currently on the Los Angeles Times Best-seller list. Feinstein's longtime Musical Director John Oddo will lead the all-star band. Michael Feinstein, the multi-platinum-selling, two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy Award-nominated entertainer, is considered one of the premier interpreters of American standards. Christine Ebersole is currently starring on TBS's comedy hit, "Sullivan and Sons, has performed her solo concerts at The Kennedy Center, yearly engagements at The Carlyle, Feinstein's at Loews Regency and many concert halls and theaters across the country, including The Boston Pops (having returned in September 2012), The New York Pops, the televised Kennedy Center Honors and The San Francisco Symphony at Carnegie Hall (2008 PBS Special). NYC: BABY JANE DEXTER SPELLS OUT THE RULES OF THE ROAD

Baby Jane Dexter's brand new show, The Rules of the Road, debuts at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440) for twelve performances only beginning Friday, November 16th and running on consecutive Fridays and Saturdays through December 22nd. All shows at 7:00 pm. Sharing the stage will be her respected musical partner Ross Patterson. The Rules of the Road is the latest emotionally empowering and highly-charged show from this influential and beloved cabaret artist who never disappoints. Her shows are filled with memorable anecdotes from life and a brilliant performing career as well as totally unforgettable song choices that have helped make her the local legend she remains today. Bistro Award winning singer Jeff Macauley returns with his acclaimed tribute to the lyrics of Norman Gimbel, It Was Me, to DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Saturday, December 22nd at 7:30 pm. Norman Gimbel won an Oscar for "It Goes Like It Goes" from Norma Rae and is responsible for some of the most recognizable and best-loved lyrics of the last half-century. In a career that goes back to the early '50s, Mr. Gimbel gave words to such standards as Meditation, Sway, So Nice, The Girl From Ipanema, I Will Wait For You, Watch What Happens, I Will Follow Him, Killing Me Softly With His Song, Bluesette, and Canadian Sunset, as well as the themes to Wonder Woman, Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days. Cabaret favorites Tommy Femia and Rick Skye have teamed up for another evening of "Judy and Liza Together Again" at DON'T TELL MAMA (343 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-757-0788) on Saturday nights December 8th, 15th & 22nd at 8:30 pm. They are joined by Ricky Ritzel (as Mort) at the piano. These MAC Award winning performers (Best Impersonation) will pull out all the stops, singing classic solo's, parodies, duets and just plain whooping and hollering by the greatest mother/ daughter team in show biz history. Tommy Femia is a 7 time winner of the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) Award for his brilliant portrayal of Judy Garland in "Judy Garland LIVE!", now in it's 20th season at Don't Tell Mama. He has also starred in "Whoop-de-doo", "I Will Come Back" and, most recently, "Norma Does Men". NYC: RACHAEL SAGE'S 'TCHATCHKES & LATKES!' SANDY RELIEF BENEFIT

Art-pop songstress Rachael Sage brings her campy, inspiring 'Tchatchkes & Latkes!' back to JOE'S PUB at THE PUBLIC THEATRE (425 Lafayette Street, NYC - 212-967-7555 - ) for a December 22nd Holiday event, as a Benefit for Hurricane Sandy Relief. Showtime is 7:30 pm. Her post-Hanukah pre-Christmas musical hijinks will feature Sage's quirky theatricality at its best - an upbeat evening of vaudevillian shtick, playful Yiddishkeit, tall tales, wacky props, pianistic flair and hilarious, written-on-the-spot, topical compositions. She will share the stage with some of her talented New York neighbors, including cellist Dave Eggar and trumpet player Russ Johnson. All net proceeds from this performance will benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief. A native downtown New Yorker, Sage was impacted by the Hurricane but realizes she was more fortunate than many. She was without power and heat for five days. Sage's Edinburgh Fringe Festival one-woman shows, her Joe's Pub appearances, her acting background (she studied at The Actors Studio and The New York Shakespeare Lab at The Public Theater), all combine to create a singer-songwriter with a compelling stage presence. NYC: MAUREEN McGOVERN COMES "HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS"

Maureen McGovern, the two time Grammy Award nominated vocalist and actress, will perform her acclaimed show "Home For The Holidays" at 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) Tuesday through Sunday, December 18th through 23rd at 7:00 pm (note: Tuesday the 18th at 9:30 pm). She will be joined by her longtime Musical Director Jeffrey Harris on piano and Jay Leonhart on bass. McGovern marks the 40th anniversary of the release of her #1 Oscar-winning International Gold Record, "The Morning After" from The Poseidon Adventure, which garnered her a Grammy Award nomination in 1973 for "Best New Artist." Maureen received her second Grammy Award nomination in 1998 for "Best Traditional Pop Vocal" for her solo piano/voice album, The Pleasure of His Company, with Emmy-winning, Grammy-nominated jazz pianist, Mike Renzi. NYC: MICHAEL FEINSTEIN WITH "A GERSHWIN HOLIDAY"

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095) presents two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy award-nominated entertainer Michael Feinstein, Tuesdays through Saturdays, November 27th through December 22nd, at 8:00 pm with additional 10:30 pm shows on Fridays and Saturdays. Celebrating the release of his new book The Gershwins and Me and CD of twelve Gershwin songs, Michael will perform "A Gershwin Holiday." For the show, Michael will sing classic Jazz Age songs by George and Ira Gershwin from "Strike Up the Band" to "Love Is Here to Stay," while sharing unforgettable stories and reminiscences from the music that defined American popular song. The Gershwins and Me will be available for sale at the show. Nick Ziobro, the winner of The Michael Feinstein Initiative's 2012 Great American Songbook High School Competition, will join the engagement as special guest vocalist. Pianist and arranger Alan Broadbent, winner of two Grammy Awards, will lead an all-star quintet. Feinstein is considered one of the premier interpreters of American standards. His 200-plus shows a year have included performances at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House and the Hollywood Bowl as well as the White House and Buckingham Palace. In 2007, he founded the Michael Feinstein Great American Songbook Initiative, dedicated to celebrating the art form and preserving it through educational programs, Master Classes, and the annual High School Vocal Academy and Competition, which awards scholarships and prizes to students across the country. NYC: STEVE TYRELL WITH THE SONGS OF SAMMY CAHN AT THE CARLYLE

The holiday season at THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-570-7189) features Steve Tyrell, who has become a fixture at the club for the past 7 years. His new show and tribute to Sammy Cahn, "Christmas at the Carlyle: The Songs of Sammy Cahn", features songs from the famed songwriter whose music continues to inspire generations today. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday at 8:45 pm with added shows Thursday through Saturday at 10:45 pm, through December 30th. The Songs from Sammy Cahn will feature Cahn's beloved classics including "It's Magic", "Come Fly With Me", "Call Me Irresponsible", "Teach Me Tonight", "The Tender Trap", "Let It Snow", and "The Christmas Blues". A Grammy-nominated singer, Syleena is considered one of the best vocalists of her generation, and has scored major R&B hits and been invited to collaborate with the likes of Kanye West and R. Kelly. Having fought the maj or label system to allow her true identity to shine forth, Syleena now steps forward with her most personal statement to date. Maureen received her second Grammy Award nomination in 1998 for "Best Traditional Pop Vocal" for her solo piano/voice album, The Pleasure of His Company, with Emmy-winning, Grammy-nominated jazz pianist, Mike Renzi. She was also a featured guest artist on the Grammy Award-winning Songs from the Neighborhood: The Music of Mister Rogers. NYC: MICHAEL FEINSTEIN WITH "A GERSHWIN HOLIDAY"

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095) presents two-time Emmy and five-time Grammy award-nominated entertainer Michael Feinstein, Tuesdays through Saturdays, November 27th through December 22nd, at 8:00 pm with additional 10:30 pm shows on Fridays and Saturdays. Celebrating the release of his new book The Gershwins and Me and CD of twelve Gershwin songs, Michael will perform "A Gershwin Holiday." For the show, Michael will sing classic Jazz Age songs by George and Ira Gershwin from "Strike Up the Band" to "Love Is Here to Stay," while sharing unforgettable stories and reminiscences from the music that defined American popular song. The Gershwins and Me will be available for sale at the show. Nick Ziobro, the winner of The Michael Feinstein Initiative's 2012 Great American Songbook High School Competition, will join the engagement as special guest vocalist. Pianist and arranger Alan Broadbent, winner of two Grammy Awards, will lead an all-star quintet. Feinstein is considered one of the premier interpreters of American standards. His 200-plus shows a year have included performances at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House and the Hollywood Bowl as well as the White House and Buckingham Palace. In 2007, he founded the Michael Feinstein Great American Songbook Initiative, dedicated to celebrating the art form and preserving it through educational programs, Master Classes, and the annual High School Vocal Academy and Competition, which awards scholarships and prizes to students across the country. Chuck Redd made his international debut when he joined the Charlie Byrd Trio in 1980 at the age of 21. That year, he also began performing extensively with the Great Guitars. LA: "A MARRIAGE OF MUSIC AND MIRTH." WITH WARREN & SMITH

Singer Annette Warren and legendary pianist Paul Smith, who both celebrated their 90th birthdays this year and have been married more than 50 years, will make a rare cabaret appearance at the CATALINA JAZZ CLUB (6725 West Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, CA - 323-466-2210 - ) on Tuesday, December 18th at 8:00 pm with their show "A Marriage of Music and Mirth." Warren, who is also a celebrated pianist herself, earned fame as a nightclub and recording star and is best remembered for dubbing the singing voices of Ava Gardner in the 1951 movie "Show Boat" and Lucille Ball in both "Fancy Pants" and "Sorrowful Jones." She also provided all of the voices for UPA's animated version of the Frankie and Johnny story, "Rooty Toot Toot," recently released on DVD as part of the "Jolly Frolics" cartoon set. She has recorded albums for several labels including Capitol and ABC Paramount. Paul Smith is one of the most acclaimed jazz pianists of all time. He has been playing since the age of eight, was pianist-arranger for the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, part of the Les Paul Trio, worked several decades at Warner Brothers and NBC, and has accompanied such legends as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Nat King Cole, Rosemary Clooney, Mel Torme, Anita O'Day and many others.
