NYC: SUNDAY JAZZ BRUNCH WITH GABRIELLE STRAVELLI

Bistro Award winning vocalist, Gabrielle Stravelli, will be playing her weekly Sunday Jazz Brunch at LE PESCADEUX (90 Thompson Street, NYC - 212-966-0021), a lovely French restaurant in the heart of Soho. They will play three sets from 12:30 to 4:00 pm. She will be joined by Saul Rubin on guitar and Pat O'Leary on bass in this charming boite that offers a great, well-priced menu and cozy atmosphere. NYC: TRAVIS MOSER SINGS THE SONGS OF RODGERS AND HART

Travis Moser takes the audience on a journey through the Rodgers and Hart Songbook, while offering backstage and personal stories about the songs and the shows from which they came on Saturday, June 23rd at 4:00 pm and Sunday, June 24th at 7:00 pm at THE METROPOLITAN ROOM (34 West 22nd Street, NYC - 212-206-0440 - ). His show "This Can't Be Love: The Songs of Rodgers and Hart" celebrates one of the most prolific and legendary songwriting duos of all time. Selections include new arrangements of "This Can't Be Love," "Nobody's Heart (Belongs to Me)," "Manhattan" and many others. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Travis received a B.A. in musical theater from Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts. In regional theater, Travis has played Action in "West Side Story," Jack in "Into the Woods," Master Nick Cricker in "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" and Joseph in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," among others. He also had the opportunity to work with two time Tony Award nominee Margot Sappington in the Pittsburgh Playhouse production of "Jekyll and Hyde." On Camera, Travis has been a featured soloist on "The Children's Hospital Free Care Benefit Show" on CBS and is currently a National Anthem soloist for the New York Roadrunners (NYRR) organization. NYC: JIM CARUSO & BILLY STRITCH SUNDAYS IN JUNE AT BEMELMANS BAR

Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch will be performing swinging standards at the legendary BEMELMAN'S BAR at the CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-570-7189) every Sunday in June from 9:00 pm until midnight. The two performers, who have performed extensively on their own, gained national exposure together as the host and musical director of the wildly popular open mic, Cast Party, which celebrates talent every Monday at Birdland in NYC, and tours nationally. Caruso and Stritch will be joined by bassist Steve Doyle. Jim Caruso recently made his Broadway debut alongside Liza Minnelli in the Tony Award-winning smash hit Liza's At The Palace!, singing, dancing and celebrating the music and arrangements of the late, great Kay Thompson and the Williams Brothers. For his nightclub work, Caruso has won six MAC, two Nightlife and two BackStage Bistro Awards for his sold-out New York shows at Birdland, the Algonquin Hotel, and Arci's Place; and has also performed in clubs in Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Palm Beach Hotel and London. Billy Stritch is one of the premier singer-pianists on the New York and national jazz and cabaret scene. His most recent nightclub act "Billy Stritch Sings the Mel Torme Songbook" earned rave reviews from the New York critics. Stritch has appeared in cabaret venues across the nation as well as concert performances at the London Palladium, NHK Hall in Tokyo and Rio de Janeiro's Municipale Auditorium. NYC: ARTURO O'FARRILL & THE AFRO-LATIN JAZZ ORCHESTRA

Grammy Award-winning pianist, composer and educator Arturo O'Farrill will be performing on Sundays through March at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) with shows at 9:00 & 11:00 pm. O'Farrill was born in Mexico and grew up in New York City. Son of the late, great composer Chico O'Farrill, Arturo was Educated at Manhattan School of Music, Brooklyn College Conservatory and the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College. He played piano in Carla Bley's Big Band from 1979 through 1983 and earned a reputation as a soloist in groups led by Dizzy Gillespie, Steve Turre, Freddy Cole, Lester Bowie, Wynton Marsalis and Harry Belafonte. After leading his late father's orchestra for many years, Arturo formed his own band, The Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra in order to explore his and other compositions in the panoply of Afro-Latin music. L.A.: ROBYN SPANGLER SINGS LINDA RONSTADT AT JOSLYN CENTER

Robyn Spangler brings her show "Why I Love Linda Ronstadt" to THE ARTHUR NEWMAN THEATRE at the JOSLYN CENTER THEATRE (73-750 Catalina Way, Palm Desert, CA - TKTS: 760-325-2731 - ) on Sunday, June 24th at 2:00 pm. Todd Schroeder serves as musical director. Linda Ronstadt is best known as the queen of the "rock ballad" with her string of hits in the late 60s and early 70s and a four decade plus career in music, which includes almost every genre. So those who have heard Robyn Spangler perform know that crossing genres is what drew her to showcase Ronstadt's career. Ms. Spangler has been singing professionally since she was 17 and has become a household name in the cabaret world. Her one-woman shows have played throughout the US, including "On A Liquid Afternoon" which she performed her last year, making this a return engagement for Robyn as part of the Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series presented by Les Michaels and Life Is A Cabaret Entertainment. Robyn has worked as a professional singer in summer stock, Repertory Theater, dinner theater, amusement park reviews, rock bands and industrial shows. Her favorite roles include: Sally in Cabaret, Anita in West Side Story, Kitty in Chicago, Ruby Rae in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Minnie Mae in Annie Get Your Gun. As an actress, she has appeared in movies, hosted a TV show and has been in over 150 commercials and laughingly says: "going to the mail box for residual checks is the best part of her day". SF: JON SECADA CELEBRATES THE RELEASE OF HIS LATEST CD AT THE RRAZZ

The Django Reinhardt NY Festival, now celebrating its 12th year at Birdland, carries on the legacy of legendary gypsy guitarist Django Reinhardt, but with some new songs and new interpretations keeping it fresh, exciting, cutting-edge ... but true to the hot jazz, romantic style which has exploded across the US. Returning this year is Samson Schmitt, son of legendary 'gypsy' French guitar legend Dorado Schmitt, who heads an All-Star band of top musicians from France and the US. NYC: PATTI LUPONE EXTENDED AN ADDITIONAL WEEK AT 54 BELOW

54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street, NYC - 646-476-3551) has announced that Broadway legend, two time Tony Award winner, Patti LuPone has been extended for an additional week.Patti's cabaret act, "FAR AWAY PLACES" will play seven additional performances from Tuesday, June 19th through Saturday, June 23rd at 8:00 pm. There will be a special late night performance on Thursday, June 21st at 11:00 pm. Backed by a five piece orchestra, Ms. LuPone's all new show will feature a mix of contemporary songs from the world of pop and Broadway and a selection of Paris and Berlin Cabaret Songs from the 30s and 40s. NYC: LAURA OSNES IN HER CABARET DEBUT AT CAFE CARLYLE

Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes will make her cabaret debut at the legendary THE CAFE CARLYLE (35 East 76th Street, NYC - 212-570-7189 - ) in an exclusive two-week engagement, Tuesday, June 19th through Saturday, June 30th at 8:45 pm. Three performances (Thursday through Saturday) will be recorded for a Broadway Records CD release. Ms. Osnes will present an evening of songs culled from Broadway, the Great American Songbook, as well as from the worlds of jazz and folk. During the recording dates, she will be joined by special guests Jeremy Jordan (Bonnie & Clyde, Newsies) on June 28th, Tom Wopat (Catch Me If You Can) on June 29th and Max Crumm (Grease) on June 30th. NYC: PETER ASHER WITH "A MUSICAL MEMOIR OF THE 60s AND BEYOND"

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095 - ) presents the return engagement of pop music legend Peter Asher and his multimedia show "A Musical Memoir of the 60s and Beyond" from Tuesday through Saturday, June 19th through June 23rd at 7:30 pm with additional 10:30 pm shows on Friday and Saturday evenings. When the program made its New York debut at Feinstein's last year, it played to packed houses and critical acclaim. The two-time Grammy Award winner for "Producer of the Year" first rose to international acclaim through the global smash "World Without Love" as one half of the British Invasion duo Peter & Gordon, Peter moved effortlessly to Music Executive with The Beatles' Apple Records, then famously to producer and manager, handling the careers of James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt and a host of others. NYC: FREE OUTDOOR CONCERTS RETURN TO TUDOR CITY GREENS WEDNESDAY! - COMEDY TONIGHT WITH A SPLASH OF JAZZ

Concerts for City Greens, the free outdoor concert series that brings the sounds of music to the heart of Midtown, presents its second show of its fifth season on Wednesday June 20th at 6:30 pm at Tudor City Greens. A poet and a songwriter in addition to being a highly original singer, she is an important force in the advanced New York jazz vocal scene since 1996 when she recorded her first CD, red&blue. Her collaboration with alto-saxophonist Jorge Sylvester began in 2001 and the synergy of their near telepathic level of communication has produced several unique and groundbreaking projects: A Small Dream In Red, an innovative voice and saxophone duo; Conceptual Motion Orchestra, a 20-piece all original music ensemble; and the ACE (Afro- Caribbean- Experimental) Collective, a sextet of improvising musicians consisting of: alto saxophone, voice, trumpet, piano electric bass, and drums. The ACE Collective performs original, new and experimental compositions that draw from the Afro-Caribbean Diaspora, jazz and the free music art forms. Ms. Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", "Jackie" and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. NYC: MATT CAVENAUGH AND JENNY POWERS IN THEIR SHOW "LOVING YOU"

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095) presents the debut of Broadway star couple Matt Cavenaugh and Jenny Powers for one night only on Monday, June 18th at 8:00 pm. Their show "Loving You" showcases a dynamic mix of traditional standards, contemporary pop and classic musical theatre, Broadway star couple Jenny Powers and Matt Cavenaugh sing a fresh refrain of that oft-repeated, yet slightly mysterious and nearly implausible cosmic chorus that is love and marriage. The evening is directed by Joe Langworth and musical direction by Greg Jarrett. Powers and Cavenaugh will lend their voices to such classics as "The Best Is Yet To Come," "I Can Cook Too" and "Something's Coming". Collectively, Matt Cavenaugh and Jenny Powers have starred in 11 Broadway and off-Broadway productions, including West Side Story and Grease. The husband and wife team have also played various famed New York City venues such as Joe's Pub, Rose Hall at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Birdland Jazz Club, Avery Fisher Hall, Town Hall and New York City Center. There is a $25-$40 cover plus a $25 food/drink minimum.

NYC: "MINTUN MONDAY NIGHT!" AT FEINSTEIN'S

FEINSTEIN'S at the Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue, NYC - 212-339-4095 - ) presents "Mintun Monday Night!" featuring legendary entertainer Peter Minton on Monday nights at 10:30 pm through June 25th. Mr. Minton will be performing songs from The Golden Age of Jazz from the '20s and '30s. For more than twenty-five years Peter Mintun's name has been synonymous with American Society. He has performed with symphony orchestras, with his own society dance orchestra, and has entertained royalty, film and stage stars, heads of industry, and composers themselves. Peter Mintun's piano playing has graced such rooms as L'Etoile in the Huntington Hotel, Masons in The Fairmont, the Madison Room of The New York Palace Hotel, and Bemelmans Bar at The Carlyle. There is a $15 cover plus a 1-drink minimum.


NYC: JIM CARUSO'S "CAST PARTY" MONDAYS AT BIRDLAND

Every Monday night at 9:30 pm, Broadway impresario Jim Caruso hosts "Cast Party", a combination open-mic, networking event and party at BIRDLAND (315 West 44th Street, NYC - 212-581-3080) during which the biggest stars on Broadway relax on their night off by performing their favorite songs in an informal setting. Cast Party is a mix of music, impromptu performance and cocktail party revelry, where showbiz superstars, stunning jazz talents and cabaret glitterati hit the stage alongside up-and-comers to serve up jaw-dropping music and general razzle-dazzle. NYC: DINE & DANCE WITH VINCE GIORDANO AND THE NIGHTHAWKS

Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks play every Monday & Tuesday night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at at SOFIA'S RESTAURANT at the EDISON HOTEL (221 West 46th Street, NYC - 212-719-5799). Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks is an eleven-piece band playing music of the 1920s & 30s for your dining and dancing pleasure. In 1976 Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks (originally known as the New Orleans Nighthawks) was formed. A big-band historian and collector, Giordano has more than 60,000 scores in his collection. There is a $15 cover plus a $15 food drink minimum.

CHI: CHICAGO SINGS: JERRY HERMAN

PORCHLIGHT MUSIC THEATRE presents their annual CHICAGO SINGS fundraising concert on Monday, June 18th at 7:00 pm at MAYNE STAGE (1328 West Morse Avenue, Chicago, IL - 773-381-4554). This year's "Chicago Sings" concert highlights the work of Jerry Herman (Mame, Hello Dolly, La Cage Aux Folles, and Mack & Mabel to name a few), sung by some of Chicago's favorite performers. In addition to your hosts Rob Lindley and Doug Peck, the cast features Peggy Roeder, E Faye Butler, Rebecca Finnegan, Stephanie Binetti, Christine Mild, David Girolmo, Brianna Aguilar, Meghan Murphy, Tom Michael, Joan Curto, Devin DeSantis, Stephen Schellhardt, Sean Blake, Rob Lindley, Matt Crowle, Tammy Mader, Lara Filip, Johanna McKenzie Miller, Andrea Prestinario, Renee Matthews, Bethany Thomas and Robby Lehman. SF: THE TOMMY IGOE BIG BAND AT THE RRAZZ

The Tommy Igoe Big Band will perform at RRAZZ ROOM at THE HOTEL NIKKO (222 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA - 415-394-1189) on Mondays, June 11th, 18th & 25th at 7:30 pm, featuring 15 of the Bay Area's finest musicians, including members of Tower of Power, Santana and The Doobie Brothers. Drummer Tommy Igoe's Big Band is the hottest big band in NYC, and has been playing to sold out audiences every Friday night at the famed BIRDLAND for the past five years. He brings the same musical acumen to San Francisco, and endeavors to change the face of nightlife on Mondays. Igoe brings his big band pedigree (his father Sonny Igoe was the drummer for Benny Goodman and Woody Herman during the 40s-50s) to create a big band for the 21st Century. This is not nostalgia, but a forward-looking spin on a uniquely American format. There is a $25 cover plus a 2-drink minimum.
